The central government announced the much awaited ITIR (Information Technology Investment Region) for Hyderabad recently which involves an investment of more than 2 lakh crores over a period of ten to twenty years and envisages creation of 10 lakh jobs.

At a time when there has been much heartburn among the people of Seemandhra that Hyderabad is being taken away from them, this project was like rubbing salt to the wound since there is already a grudge that all the development was concentrated around Hyderabad at the cost of Seemandhra’s development.

Now there is some interesting news doing the rounds that many of the Seemandhra ministers, both at the state and also the centre are lobbying that this project may be shifted in parts to Vizag, Ananthapur and Tirupathi in case Hyderabad is not made a UT in the event of AP’s bifurcation! We have to see how this is going to result.
