Andhra Pradesh is on the verge of an economic slowdown ever since the Amravati project was stopped midway. The infrastructure activity in the upcoming capital was stopped suddenly leading to a sorry plight in the villages which were counting on the project.

These villages face empty house properties vacated by employees of the construction companies. Grocery and consumer product shops went out of business as the migrants moved out of the area after the work stopped.

Around 20,000 people mostly migrants were engaged in the construction project before the government changed. This is a large number considering the total population of the villages was around 1.5 lakh when lands were allotted for the capital. The number of villages involved in this project was 29 and that is a large number. The well being of all these villagers was put at stake by the stalling of the  Amravati project.

Most of the villagers were affected in a negative manner when the project was put on brakes. Other than that a large number of investors who have invested large sums of money in the project are also stuck with their investments.
