Union cabinet has approved to ban e-cigarettes in the country. Finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman announced this decision of union cabinet, with this decision there will be complete ban on the product.

Finance minister announced in a press conference that e-cigarettes will be completely banned in india, which makes its production, export, import, transport, distribution, storage and advertisements illegal in country. The reason of banning the product was rapidly growing addiction of vapes and he-cigarettes among peoples especially youngsters.

Most of cigarette smokers were shifting to e-cigarettes, basically trying to quit the habit, but instead getting addicted to latter product. FM insisted that vapes and e-cigarettes pose more danger to health of youngsters in the country, these products are been produced by over 400 companies, and comes in 150 different flavors.

With this decision of cabinet, the storage and possession of e-cigarettes will attract 50000 rs and six months imprisonment or both simultaneously. Soon after the decision, the stock prices of most tobacco manufacturing companies rose with 1.5 to 4.5 percent approximately.Any individual who is in possession of these banned things have to deposit in police station to avoid any action from concerned authorities.
