hyderabad: Stating that it has full faith in hyderabad police, the Telangana high court on Tuesday dismissed a PIL that sought a court-monitored CBI probe into the suicide of Andhra Pradesh former Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.

The bench of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice abhishek Reddy was hearing the plea filed by B Anil Kumar of Guntur who raised several doubts on the circumstances that led the leader to take the extreme decision to end his life at his Banjara Hills residence in hyderabad City.

His counsel said that police are not divulging any information on the investigation. Chief Justice Chauhan said that what the police are doing is a correct process. Even Supreme Court directed courts in the country not to disturb or intervene in a police probe during the stage of the investigation, the CJ said while questioning the locus of the petitioner in raising this plea.

"If the probe is not progressing well, the people that should be aggrieved are his family members. They did not raise any such objection. You are a stranger to the family. How can you raise this plea?" the chief justice asked. "There is no public interest in the matter to treat this as PIL," the CJ said, before dismissing the public interest litigation.
