andhra pradesh government is targeting to raise at least Rs 1,000 crore through contributions from NRIs living in the other countries in the ongoing financial year under a new initiative called 'Connect-to-Andhra.' The funds thus obtained will be utilized on the government's flagship 'Navaratnalu' program, under which cash will be doled out through various schemes to different sections of people every year.

The chief minister is chairman of the apex advisory board of CTA, which will be implemented in a mission mode. A similar initiative was launched by tdp chief and former cm N chandrababu naidu, which was named “Smart ap Foundation”.

This is aimed to mobilize funds from philanthropists and from corporate companies under CSR (corporate social responsibility) and utilize them for the development of the state, since AP’s financial condition is bad after bifurcation of the state. Just about Rs 85 crore was donated by companies and others in 2018-19 when it was launched by TDP. jagan now boasts of mobilizing Rs 1,000 crore per year which looks very ambitious. Let us see what happens in the next one year.
