The ousted contractor of polavaram, Navayuga Engineering Company Limited had approached high court Division Bench over the verdict of the Single Judge vacating the stay on the construction of the polavaram Hydel Project. Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) recently performed Bhoomi pooja at the Project site. MEIL bagged the reverse tender with an offer of ₹4,358 crores, which was lower by 12.6 percent. The State had invited the bid for ₹4,987 crores.

The government claimed to have saved 800 Crore in the Reverse Tendering and says the movie will complete by May  June of 2021. Megha already announced that it will draw on its experience of completing the complex kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and the Pattiseema Godavari-Krishna linking project. The government Counsel argued that the works should not be stopped as it will delay the project.

But the Division Bench headed by high court Chief Judge Maheshwari felt that 10-15 days delay will not harm the project. The high court asked to stop the project works until further orders. The next hearing of the case is posted to Tuesday.
