Politics are different and popular movements are different. But after making nice use of those movements, it is also common for politicians to ignore the common man. A lot of such instances were noticed during the Telangana issue.
This is now something evident in the form of Telangana's first martyr on December 1st 2009 when a physiotherapy student studying in Osmania University, Srikanth Achari set himself on fire for the cause of Telangana.
Sources say that his mother Rukminamma requested KCR to give Palakurthi Assembly ticket for her in return for her son's sacrifice but KCR reportedly refused giving this ticket. KCR also assured her that once the party comes to power in Telangana, he will definitely give Achari's family an MLC ticket.
Given the situation, now that Telangana has been achieved and everyone knowing who is responsible for the separate state to become a reality, can it be called as KCR is doing the right thing? The students in OU think otherwise and their protests have already risen. But only time will decide where this will go…
