30 out of 52 MLAs elected from Rayalaseema for the period (2009-2014) from different political parties have changed their political flags. Some of the MLAs are still in dilemma on changing the party. Most of defections are from Congress to other two parties (TDP and YSRCP) in Rayalaseema. Even former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has also left the party and start his own political party.
Senor Congress leaders and Ministers were also left the Congress. Galla, Erasu and TG have joined in TDP. Another biggie from Ananthapur Sailajanath is ready to change the party. Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy is on the way to leave the Congress. Only 19 MLAs from Rayalaseema still remains with Congress. PeddiReddi, Amarnath Reddy and Praveen Kumar Reddy were joined in YSRCP where as Shajhan and Kuthuhalamma into TDP from Chittoor district.
Kaapu and Gurnath Reddy joined in YSRCP where as JC into TDP. Sailajanath and Madhusudan Gupta are waiting CBN approval to join in TDP. Seven out of 10 MLAs were changed their parties in Kadapa. 9 out of 14 MLAs in Kurnool district were changed the party.Cheenakesava Reddy, Katasani and TDP MLA Bala Nagi Reddy joined in YSRCP. Erasu, TG, Labbi and Shilpa were joined in TDP. Aluru MLA Neeraja Reddy joined in Jai Samaikyandhra Party. Congress party as a whole collapsed from the strongest bastion in SA.
