According to the Medical Bulletin released last night, telangana has recorded 891 cases in a single day, taking the total cases to 10,444. The state also recorded 225 deaths till date. One of the worrying factors in Telangana's coronavirus battle is the alarming positivity rate.
The state has done 67,318 tests and out of that, 10,444 samples have turned positive. The positivity rate is 15.5%. This next only to maharashtra and delhi where there are highest number of coronavirus cases in the country. Telangana's mortality rate is 2.5%.
Interestingly, andhra pradesh has also crossed 10,000 cases the other day. But the neighbouring telugu State's positivity is just 1.3%. Andhra Pradesh's mortality rate is just 1.2%. This condition of telangana is solely due to performing less number of tests. While telangana tested 67,318 samples since the outbreak started, andhra pradesh is claiming to have tested more samples in just three days. At the same time, there are reports coming in that the government of telangana has ordered to stop the tests in the ghmc area for the next two days owing to the huge backlog of finalizing the results of the already collected samples.
