The high hopes of the people of Khammam district that the famed temple town of Bhadrachalam would get a face-lift in the newly formed state of Telangana seems to have fizzled out. At least that is the situation right now. Sources say that people and politicians from this region were stunned to see not a single rupee being allocated for this famous pilgrimage destination, considered as Ayodhya of the South. While the Telangana CM KCR allocated Rs. 100 crores for Yadagirigutta, there was a raw deal for Bhadrachalam, which is suffering as the infrastructure is unable to cope with the influx of pilgrims. Bhadrachalam was merged from Andhra into Telangana in 1959 for administrative purposes and although there was talk of giving it back to AP after bifurcation, there was fierce resistance saying the Lord Ram here is Telangana Ramudu but the common man is feeling whether KCR is viewing him as Andhra Ramudu!
