Eversince Chennai experienced heaviest rain fall which was not seen in the last 100 days leaving the city completely drowned in floods, Two Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are experiencing climate change scares.

Those who live in Chennai can vouch that rainfs are far and inbetween and even sometimes November month goes off without a rain drop. When clouds opened up, many thought that this year too it would be same but much to their shock, Chennai turned into virtual island.

Neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana too are witnessing climate changes shocking everyone. Minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-7ºC in Telangana and 2-4ºC in AP. For example the normal minimum temperature in Bhadrachalam in TS is 17ºC but the town recorded 24ºC on Tuesday. Summer temperatures this year were abnormal for most part. Hyderabad recorded one of the hottest days in the past five decades at 44.3ºC on May 22, with the maximum ever recorded temperature being 45.5ºC. Heat waves this year caused deaths of more than 2,000 people in both states with most of the deaths recorded in AP.

Experts advice that these climate changes cannot be ignored and call for quick monitoring before everything goes out of hands. The question is whether the governments headed by KCR and Chandra Babu are listening.
