The newly married Doctor couple will never ever forget the Chennai floods. The couple K.Sushma Reddy and K.Sathyanarayana Reddy must the first flood hit vitims as they were hitch hiking on highway.
Sushma was planning to take her PG Medical exam at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering and she was planning to return with another flight to Hyderabad on same evening. But things got worse as skies opened up. The distance between the airport and exam spot was just 21 Kilometers.
But the incessant downpour has forced them to stay indoors without basic amenities. However with help of hitch-hiking and rescue team they reached home safely. Sushma Reddy who reached Hyderabad said, "We came to Chennai and we registered at a hotel in Pallavaram. After the exams we realized that all domestic flights were cancelled and we were marooned.
The whole college was flooded and even the invigilators were surprised. We hitch hiked a SUV and it took 7 hours to reach our hotel. The next day was even worse with no electricity or no phone connectivity. We feel lucky to stay alive."
