Chennai floods has caused more losses. Just now the floods have receded and the losses are being calculated. Each and every department has faced several losses. Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) alone has faced losses of Rs.450 Crores. 


People are also assessing their losses. State-owned public sector undertakings (PSUs) are yet to take stock of losses. As per reports the losses are going to be huge than expected. 


Regarding the TNEB losses, a senior official said, "We have made a rough estimation which  includes damage to buildings and electrical installations. We will be submitting a report to the government after making all the records." Another official said, "After draining water for three days we started the electrical installations and restore power supply to many areas. We have asked funds from Government. 


Right now Tamil Nadu Government has issued an order to release 50 Crores immediately. The rest of the amount will be reaching within 2 weeks." The reports also added that most of the damage was caused due to flooding after a huge quantity of water was released from Chembarambakkam and other lakes and ponds
