Dr. Geetha Reddy, the daughter of veteran and late Telangana freedom fighter Eshwari Bai is a Dalit MLA of Congress who acquired her upper caste surname by virtue of marriage. She was brought into politics when she was working as a doctor in Saudi Arabia.
Rajiv and Sonia during an official visit there, met her at an Embassy function and invited her into Congress in the 1980s. Since then there was no looking back for her as she was made minister whenever Congress was power.
But in a time where the TRS wave looks undiminished and only growing stronger, sources say that she too has expressed her willingness to quit Congress and join KCR’s party. But she has reportedly added conditions.
According to this, Geetha would settle for no less than the post of
Deputy Chief Minister in the Telangana government. KCR seems to be non
committing regarding this because he feels it to be a very ambitious
demand. Meanwhile, sources say that negotiations are on!
