Due to some unexpected water crisis, the University of Hyderabad has shortened its semester by one month time. A revised calendar was issued by the academic council according to which the ensuing Winter Semester will conclude in April itself. Usually it gets ended by month of May.

As per a notification from Devesh Nigam who is the joint registrar, End semester examinations and evaluations will be completed by 14th of April next year. Usually it ends in May.

This is due to shortage of water prevailing inside campus. Sources said that the university is reeling under severe water crisis over the past three weeks after the main supplies from the now dried-up Manjeera and Singur dam got reduced drastically. To solve the crisis, the management is renting water tankers and are filling the tanks. But this is not the solution for long term.

And as a result, the academic calendar is now cut short. There are 16 hostels in the university of which hostels A, B, C, D, NRS, NRS Annex, H and the ladies hostel is facing the most trouble. Students are worried as this shortage of calendar will result in poor output.
