The incessant downpour in Chennai has completely caused more troubles for the inmates of Chennai. The overflowing floods took more than 300 lives. It was clearly said that this is a man made calamity and the state Government alone is solely responsible for this flood.
In this case there was a panic that there might be global warning and this floods happened due to this reason. But Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "Extreme rainfall that occurred over coastal districts of Tamil Nadu is highly localized and is part of the natural variability of the Indian monsoon system.
This is some of the worst rainfall which Tamil Nadu has faced in past 50 years. But the attribution to global warming is not established. The extreme rainfall is the sole reason.
The Government is also not prepared to face the floods. Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and assessment methodology have already indicated the heavy rainfall and despite warning the ruling party failed to take necessary measures."
