Right now whole of Tamil Nadu is fuming on three issues. Floods, Beep Song and Jallikattu. As 'Jallikattu' was banned it caused more uproar inside the society. Everyone requested to start the sport immediately and cancel the ban. This year (2015) the sport never happened and it was a huge upset in rural areas.

Tamil Nadu Government also kept mum so far. But now as elections are nearing, steps are taken by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha. She has urged the Centre to introduce a bill to amend laws for its conduct.

The Chief Minister has told Narendra Modi that Pongal is approaching next month and it is so important to honour the sentiments of people of Tamil Nadu who have deep attachment to the conduct of the traditional event 'Jallikattu'. She wrote a letter to Modi and has asked Minister of State for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar to introduce a bill in this winter session.

She also mentioned in the letter that she is looking forward towards the introduction of the bill. She asked Modi to direct Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change to introduce a Bill with necessary changes in Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
