Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share mutual understanding with each other. Recently both Chandra Babu Naidu and K.Chandrasekar Rao share a good rapport. But now we fear that, a conflict may arise between two states. Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to demand a share in power from Telangana.
Telanga is launching two new power plants at Bhupalapalli and Singareni. Andhra Pradesh is right now claiming a share in the power as the plants were undivided. As of now the 600MW Bhupalapalli thermal power plant is ready for commissioning.
The next power plant may start its process by January. The Bhupalapalli thermal station already has a 500-MW unit in operation and its second unit, with 600MW capacity is ready to start the process. An official said, "With respect to the power sharing formula, Andhra Pradesh will get 46.11% and Telangana will get 53.89% from the total power generated.
They also will sahre cost of generation accordingly." However Andhra Pradesh has asked equal share from the power houses. Now the matter has been taken to Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC).
