Chennai may have bounced back after the floods. But recently the incidents of young girls falling as prey to sexual abuse continues. Few hours back we reported that state of Telangana faced a small hike in rape cases. Now the capital of Tamil Nadu is also facing the same.
A recent report says Children have been sexually abused in a large number at Chennai. Child right activists say that this is a matter of concern and a worrying trend. Last week Chennai Police arrested three persons which also include an engineer for sexual abuse under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and courts sent them to jail.
The sexually abused children were just 8 years old. Another case on December 23rd happened at Madurai. A civil engineer has sexually abused an eight year old girl inside an elevator in the apartment complex.
In ayanaavaram, a 51 year old hag has abused a nine year old girl. Lots of cases are like this in past one year. Most of the cases were unreported as parents fear as this may affect the child's future.
