Remember 'Call Money Scam' ? Yeah, the same issue which shook whole state few weeks back. Due to the call money scam, the morality of women came under threat. The money was provided by financiers for a huge interest and when they fail to repay, the women's flesh was being used by the money lenders.
Even Government passed Nirbhaya act and a new bill was passed against this. But still lots of people continued. People also continued to make use of this as they cannot get loan from bank. Now in this case, Police have tightened screws and 15 new cases were filed against illegal financiers.
A victim from Misrigunj said that in 2011 her mother borrowed a sum of Rs.4.5 Lakhs from a private financier and till now they have paid 20.1 Lakhs. But still he is harassing them. She said that he took control of their own plot in Vanasthalipuram and still he threatens them.
Similarly Kaleem said that he got 18 Lakhs from illegal financiers and he paid a sum of Rs.50 Lakhs. Police officials already ensured that those who make money lending must have license, if not they will face dire consequences.
