TRS Government seems to follow a new habit, where a person who is convicted seems to enjoy all the benefits. This is continuing for a long time. Most of the MLA's who were violated and found guilty are still continuing their term as MLA's.
Initially it was Talasani Srinivas Yadav who continues to be minister in the TRS government despite his worst records and some official records say him as TDP MLA. But High Court has taken some serious note of Mahipal Reddy who is Patancheru MLA. He is still an MLA in TRS.
Mahipal Reddy has been convicted by a trial court in a criminal case and was even awarded a sentence of two and a half years. As per reports, he threatened a business man and he has grabbed a cheque of Rs.15 Lakhs.
As per the rules, the conviction disqualifies Mahipal Reddy and the constituency should be declared as vacant. But still he is getting his salary as MLA and he also enjoy other benefits and incentives. So what is TRS doing ? It just encourages such persons.
