The ruling TRS which had given an impression as if it was miles ahead of all other parties with the mega publicity blitz in the GHMC elections till recently, is not to be seen anywhere once the deadline for filing of GHMC nominations that has ended on January 17.

An astounding number of 888 TRS candidates reportedly filed nominations for all of the 150 GHMC seats. Keeping aside the 150 official candidates, sources say the rest 730 candidates are now in fray as rebels which has been giving sleepless nights to TRS leadership.

With this move, all the top TRS leaders right from KTR to ministers and TRS MPs as well as MLAs to MLCs, have gone into a huddle unable to figure out how they can pacify rebels to withdraw all their nominations.

The party which has been fully confident of winning 100 seats until recently, is now worried that rebels would be playing spoilsport and now it may would be difficult securing even 50 seats in the current situation as a result of the split of votes in case rebels refuse withdrawing their nominations.
