A team of trained medical professionals have finally found a way to interpret ECG signals for any abnormality in heartbeat. This can be done just by wearing a pendant. A 5mm Chipset will be worn as a pendant and it will be connected to ECG leads on the chest. The main aim for this invention is to reduce the hospital stay.
The chipset is developed at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. It can monitor the heart beat and send an alert to the user as well as the doctor on variations in heart rhythym and medical attention will be provided. The chip is blended with 'Embedded Intelligence' and this will also provide medical history of the user.
The technology, which has shown close to 95% accuracy during initial tests, will soon undergo field trials. This will definitely reduce heart related diseases by 75%. Before 2020 more number of devices will be made available in the market.
The chipset which records the heartbeats through ECG will be attached to a body and it will process the data. This can also be connected to a smartphone and it will alert the user through an installed application.
