A 26 Year old man was arrested for raping a hearing and speech impaired girl at Jamajhari village in Odisha's Kandhamal district. The accused name is identified as Sujit Kumar dehuri and he is married and he is a father of a two year old child.
He was arrested immediately and medical tests were conducted in connection with the case. Regarding this Sub-divisional police officer, Phulbani Sadara said, "We are conducting medical tests on the rape survivor. He has raped 18 year old girl when she was aloof. Sujit belongs to same village.
He allegedly entered the girl's house on the pretext of drinking water and raped her when he ensured that he was alone. The survivor conveyed to her mother about the 'rape'. He also has threatened her.
We have registered a case against the accused and the girl's mother has lodged a FIR at Police station. He was arrested from his home. We are conducting more inquiry on the same matter. More steps will be taken on the accused after getting medical reports of both the victim and the accused."
