Congress party which is recently facing a huge down slide is right now making amendments to bounce back and restore its lost glory. The party is now lacking sensible politicians. Jaipal Reddy is one of those politicians.
When he was Union Petroleum Minister, he refused to provide special favours for the Ambanis and he was immediately sacked. He is one of those ministers who speak what is on his mind. Therefore it comes as a surprise that he holds the High command that the party was making a big mistake in supporting JNU Students.
Recently he spoke to media and said, "When Congress supported Students at UoH over suicide of Rohith Vemula, I welcomed the decision as it was justified. The atrocities against Dalit Students should have been stopped. Media also never gave much coverage to Rohit's suicide.
Even though students conducted a rally it was useless. Media never gave more importance to Rohit’s participation in a rally condemning the execution of Yakub Memon. Yakub was also promised an asylum if he comes back to India. But there is no sympathy for Afzal Guru who planned attack on Indian Parliament."
