“I need to simply blink and the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will collapse”, this was the big statement from Jagan Mohan Reddy that jolted political scenario in United AP in 2011. Congress high command was immediately alerted and hastened the merger of PRP into its Congress unit in AP.
Now Jagan has repeated his mistake again, something he could have avoided when he is in opposition and doesn’t command that much power. Recently Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that there are 21 TDP MLAs who are in touch with him.
He thundered saying that he will topple the government in just one hour if he wishes to. Within hours of this comment, several Pro-TDP media houses naturally carried news about a dozen YSR Congress MLAs who were in touch with the ruling party.
The biggest jolt was from Senior Leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy whose quitting is almost certain. Around 8-10 MLAs from YSR Congress and the only Muslim MLA in AP, Jaleel Khan is in final stage of negotiations with the ruling party. Jagan’s challenge has provoked Chandrababu who was not that keen on defections!
