Mumbai Police has filed FIR against organizers of Make in India event as fire broke out during the ceremony. Official spokes person Dhananjay Kulkarni confirmed the news and he said that Senior police inspector Pandurang Shinde at DB Marg police station filed the complaint on behalf of the state government.
A case was registered under section 285 or negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter and also under section 336 or act endangering life or personal safety of others of the Indian Penal Code.
As per reports, a defective electric circuit created the spark for the fire and that spread rapid as lots of combustible material were stored below the stage. However Police investigated the case and they took pieces of evidence and sent it to forensic laboratory for evidence in this incident.
They also got statements from the technical staff, organizers and performers who were around the stage when the fire broke out. Police blamed the organizers as they never followed any safety norms.
