Seems people are in for a shock as GHMC elections are over and the promises were not turning out to be real. Summer of 2016 seems to be worse for residents of Manikonda and Puppalaguda. Everyone hoped that soon after the elections their homes will get water connection. But so far it has been a distant dream.
It has been more than a year the promise was made. Thanks to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) as the promise was not fulfilled. The project should have come into action by September 2015 and it has been more than 5 months and now the project has hit a roadblock.
This delay has left the residents fuming as most of them are facing troubles. A.Vasanta Lakshmi who is resident of Secretariat Colony in Manikonda said,
"Some Officials visited our colony to conduct a study and later they told us we would get water supply if we pay Rs.89,000. Most of us paid Rs.40,000 as first installment. But after that we never even heard from officials once again."
