Telangana Government is quite often criticized for being so liberal in policy of liquor sales. The state Government is right making more initiatives to attract the growing women consumers. The excise department is now planning to introduce steps to improve ambiance of places where liquor is sold.


Regarding this Excise Commissioner RV Chandravadan said, "We found that more than 40% of liquor consumers are women. So as that is the case, it becomes our responsibility to create a suitable ambiance for them. We are also considering about introducing liquor sales at Hyper markets and shopping malls.


More initiatives will follow." The Government also plans to have Women bartenders, chauffeur service from the pub owners to consumers are in the offing. Chandravadan further said, "The Government is so liberal.


We are allowing all pubs to hire women bartenders and more special consideration is provided.  Many more proposals have been sent to the government, and we are waiting for procedural clearance." However this also gets negative impact from public.
