The Technical Education Department has given instruction to all the Government Polytechnics to install CCTV Cameras in the campuses and in the class rooms to have a clear look at the doing of the students. The order was given to avoid ragging and misbehaving activities and a circular was passed on January 3oth regarding the issue.


The Government has instructed the College Management to install the cameras in the main building and also in the hostel. As per the announcement nearly 52 Government Colleges were ready with the work. In some institute like, Government Polytechnic in Nalgonda, cameras were fixed inside the classrooms to watch the students and teachers.


The CCTV Cameras were fixed in 13 class rooms and three drawing halls of the Institute. A teacher at Yadagirigutta Polytechnic has said that such type of activities will affect the teaching and learning techniques. A student strongly opposed saying the installation of cameras should be fixed in dance bars and not in class rooms as it will affect the performance of many teachers.


But the Principal of Government Polytechnic, Nalgonda has said that student’s malpractices have been stopped and late attendance and disciplinary actions can be strengthened in class rooms. The news system has improved the efficiency of the Polytechnic students.
