Consumers in Hyderabad who are using more than 100 Units of power per month should be ready to face troubles as the charges are about to be hiked. Telangana Power distribution companies have proposed a huge increase in tariffs to compensate the deficit.

The news has shocked most of them as things will be more hard during Summer. Both Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL) and Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TNPDCL) have submitted their Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) for the year 2016-17 to the Telangana State Regulatory Commission (TSERC).

As per the ARR, there is a hike of 65 Paise to 72 Paise per unit for those persons who use between 100 to 400 Units. For those who consume more than 400 units, there is an increase of Re.1 per unit.

So with this hike, the Power houses will generate an added revenue of Rs.1958 Crores. But still the deficit would be 8789 Crores. As per proposals, the annual revenue requirement for both the Discoms is Rs 30,207 crore, the revenue projected for this year is Rs 21,418 crore.
