The kingfisher Airlines, of Vijay Mallya is in the news again today, as 40 of its flights were cancelled. The reason for this development is the staying away from work of some of the employees of the airline, as a result of the delay in the salary payments. It is a well known fact this Airline is in the financial doldrums since long.
Now, in the backdrop of the agitation of some of the employees, Vijay Mallya came out with an appeal to them, asking them to avoid talking to the media or else bring disrepute for the company, as this would further damage the efforts, to shore up the Airline from its present mess.
But this appeal of Vijay Mallya, to his employees makes one wonder as to who in fact had brought the disrepute to the kingfisher Airline. Mallya is known for his profligate ways and easy going life style, which often has drawn on the ire of many a people. Even when his airline has ended up in the present financial mess, a large section of the media, took a sceptic view of his debt worthiness. Thus the appeal of Mallya to his employees now, not to bring disrepute to the Airline, is ridiculous to the core...
