Boeing 738 passenger jet crashed as it was landing at the Rostov-on-Don airport in southern Russia. All 62 people who were on board including crew members were feared to be dead. Russian Satte news agency Tass immediately passed the news at emergency centre.
Flydubai Flight 981 has travelled all the way from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don with 55 passengers aboard and including the pilots and air hostess, there were 62 people. Marina Kostioukova who is the spokeswoman for local emergencies ministry said,
"The plane with 55 Passengers and five crew members on board had a crash landing at the airport in Rostov-on-Don. Right now, we don't have any information on victims." The accident has happened right at 0050 GMT as per an official statement from the authorities.
The statement from the authorities further said that, Boeing 737 on Dubai to Rostov-on-Don route caught in fire accident soon after it got crashed and the fire was brought to control by 0200 GMT. The airplane belonged to a Dubai based company.
