The senior BJP Leader L. Ganesan on Sunday has stated that he has explained the understanding of the native of untouchables in India and has questioned the method of self-restraint for hygiene purposes by those who have handled the carcasses the as a form of discrimination.
Mr. Ganesan has made an elaborate statement and has stated that those who have carcasses could have possibly kept themselves away because of hygiene problems. He said by pointing from Bhagavad Gita a varna is explained on the basis of his qualities and duties of a person and there was no birth which is based on discrimination.
Ganesan’s claims drew flak from Dalit intellectuals. He said caste bound untouchability was developed as a weapon of oppression. He said the victims have without knowingly started it as an insult to them. He further added in RSS they never ask the caste of other person.
The question of untouchability has attracted wide attention among the leaders in Tamilnadu. The VCK general secretary D.Ravikumar has said the BJP Leaders was not expert to formulate theories. Whether a man is a historian or a sociologist or an anthropologist to make such claims and he has asked the proof for the same.
