A Srilankan Tamil Refugee K. Dhayabararaj has given an agitation on late Friday after resorting an indefinite fast demanding his discharge from a special camp at Tiruchy as he was given promise by a senior official to help him.


The refugee Dhayabararaj is kept in the special camp at Tiruchy and his spouse Udhayakala was kept in a special quarantime camp in Mandapam, which is located at Ramanathapuram district. As there was no case against them the couples has catapulted a fast until death agitation from March 17th. After five days Udhayakala was asked to be released by the state government.


Dhayabararaj has thanked the government for discharging his wife from quarantime camp and she needs medical treatment and he has forwarded the case to the concerned authorities for necessary action. Udhayakala has gone to Chennai to meet the Srilankan Deputy High Commissioner has said there is no valid reason for putting his husband in the special camp which has no basic amenities.


She has said their living condition has gone worse than in jail and they have been repeatedly questioning the government as for what reason they are detained without any case. She said that she has suffered in the last few years and presently they want to live peacefully and live with dignity. She needs to return to Srilanka, when normalcy returns there.
