On Friday a group of congress functionaries have staged Dharna in front of the Corporation’s building and has made a demand of returning of removed flag masts, which was been installed before the party office which is situated at Kokkirakulam.
The congress functionaries who have been protesting has told that a team of officials which was led by Assistant Commissioner of Thatchanallur zone of Tirunelveli corporation, Subbulakshmi has removed the two flag masts which had been installed in front of the party house.
She has also covered the statues of Kamaraj and Indira Gandhi which was also standing before the party office. They have also alleged that the visiting officials have also taken the party’s flags which were tied in front of the party’s office.
The General Secretary of the party Kamaraj has said their protest will continue, when the seized materials are not returned. The protest was withdrawn after the visiting officials have made a promise that they will return the flags and the flag masts.
