The SHE teammates of the Hyderabad city policemen have arrested 402 eve teasers, which also includes online offenders for the past three months from January at various places in the city. Presently many youngsters have started to do eve teasing and it has increased considerably.
The Senior Officials of Hyderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerate have taken a decision to arrest the eve teasing doing guys with proofs. The SHE teams have identified the offenders from various locations in the city.
The officials have addressed the press reporters and have said that the 65% of those eve teasers who were arrested are below 20 years and the remaining 35% are found in the age group from 20 to 40 years. During 2016 March, nearly 98 cases were filed within 15 days time.
Counseling was given in the presence of parents who are 60 and 98 were arrested in this regard. The SHE team members have also arrested 138 people who were making online harassment through phone calls, Face Book and 24 were jailed for blackmail during the three months operation. The police have asked the public to sent complaints to the WhatsApp number 94906-17444 or make a call to 100 for instance report of eve teasing.
