Yesterday night about 110 passengers on-board at Air India aircraft were forced to sit on plane idle for 150 minutes as Pilot insisted for a particular Woman co-pilot to operate the flight. This weird incident happened at Chennai.
Air India flight from Chennai to Trivandrum was kept on hold for two and a half hours for this reason. And midst this drama, the commander pilot also complained that he has high blood pressure. Ironically, he quit Air India last week and was serving a 6 month notice period.
A source said, "The male pilot insisted on a woman co-pilot officer on flight AI 263/264. But authorities informed that his demands can't be met as the woman was already sent on a Delhi flight.
But the commander threatened to report sick if the woman was not called and put on duty with him. But they roster section never obliged and he reported sick. In this drama, the flight was delayed by 2.5 hours." Airline spokesperson never responded to this issue.
