For the forthcoming May 16th Assembly elections, the seat sharing issue which was made between the DMK Party and Congress have ended up on Thursday and the Congress have signed a deal on the 41 constituencies it has decided to contest as part of the alliance.

The constituencies were spread across 28 districts which have reflected the choice of different factions within the Tamilnadu Congress Committee and no seats were given in Theni, Dharmapuri, Villupuram and Perambalur districts. The Congress will take on the AIADMK in 40 seats and the actor Sarathkumar is contesting in “Two leaves” symbol in Tenkasi.

The Congress sources have claimed that some important urban constituencies which include Tambaram, Madurai Central and Tirupur South have been denied. The DMK has also rejected the demand for Kanyakumari district. Sources have told that multiple factions were aiming for specific seats and this will result in clash within the TNCC.

Soon after the declaration, the Youth Congress leader S. Jothimani have taken the news to the social website Face Book to express her displeasure at the party which is not getting the Aravakurichi seat and she has told further that she will campaign there. She feels that the congress will take the right decision in this regard.
