The BJP unit of Andhra Pradesh has been harbouring ambitions of
disassociation with TDP and emerging as an independent force by the
elections in 2019. The Center has clearly dried up funds for Andhra
Pradesh so that Chandrababu Naidu’s popularity will not rise.
However
at the same time the party’s central leadership is reportedly confused
about the strategy for growth in the state. One section wants to break
alliance with the TDP where as another strong section is hoping for
status quo. This is leading to a stalemate situation.
This
confusion has even delayed the appointment of the new Party chief for
Andhra Pradesh. The Central committee is expected to take a final call
regarding this before June 8th which will spell BJP’s stance for the next elections. For now, TDP requires the support of BJP in all aspects.
If
the party indeed decides to take an open anti-TDP stance, huge meetings
would be held in all the districts of AP and central leaders will
attend these meetings for giving some serious look for them. BJP is now
hopeful that YSR Congress will be decimated soon and is nurturing
ambitions of replacing Jagan’s outfit!
