The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar on Sunday has advised the farming community not to sow cotton this season in view of the Centre's stance on cotton crop and prevailing drought conditions in the state.

The Central Governance has taken a stance to increase tax on cotton exports and subsequently the WTO document was signed by the Union Commerce Minister and has also withdrawn subsidies on cotton exports.

KCR has advised the farmers to go for alternative cash crop, keeping in view as the Centre's move certainly creates a long term crisis to the cotton farming community leading to an uncertain future for the farmers.

To tackle the issue threadbare, K.Chandrasekhar Rao would be holding Collectors' conference at Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Institute and the proposed meeting is scheduled at 2 pm on April 29 for having discussions about the issue
