From Monday onwards T Rama Rao the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's son has emerged as the second most powerful man in the Telangana cabinet after a cabinet rejig which was effected. With the consolidation of all economic portfolios under KTR, he will practically be the face of Telangana to domestic and international investors and to the outside world.
Rama Rao has been holding the municipal administration and urban development and IT departments, has been given the other important portfolios of industries and commerce, mines and geology, public enterprises and NRI affairs.
KTR who was earlier the IT and panchayat raj minister was rewarded with the portfolio of municipal administration. The chief minister has allowed his son to hog the limelight even at his own cost, but this is recognizing the good vibes that KTR has with business and the urbane face that he projects.
The Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has been given cooperation in addition to the existing portfolios. Meanwhile Chandrasekhar Rao has expanded his cabinet by inducting six ministers -Tummala Nageshwara Rao, A Indrakaran Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, C Laxma Reddy, A Chandulal and Jupally Krishna Rao.
