On Wednesday the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) treasurer M K Stalin along with his colleague Duraimurugan, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) president Vijayakanth and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thirumavalavan besides a host of others has filed their nominations.


Mr. Stalin has filed his nomination in their respective Assembly constituencies to contest the May 16 Assembly polls to contest from Kolathur from where he is seeking re-election, while Mr. Duraimurugan, a former DMK minister from Katpadi did so in Vellore district.


The DMDK chief Vijayakant and PMK senior functionary K Balu has filed their nomination papers with the authorities in Ullundurpet Constituency in Villupuram district while Mr. Thirumavalavan has filed his papers from Kattumannarkoil.


Till now nearly a total of 1,438 candidates (1,284 men, 154 women) have filed their nominations across Tamil Nadu and still few have to file their nominations which will be made today also.
