Earlier on Wednesday the DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin has accused the Election Commission of not taking action against the ruling AIADMK despite his party’s repeated representations alleging distribution of cash for votes and the DMK leader has warned of action against erring officials if voted to power.


Mr. Stalin has said though the Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni was a good officer who had worked with him when he was the Mayor of Chennai and currently he has changed and is meeting the Chief Secretary and Ms. Sheela Balakrishnan. Mr. Stalin alleged that what officials had seized so far was only the tip of the iceberg.


Stalin also claimed that the ruling party is seeking to defeat democracy with the help of money. Stalin has returned to the city after campaigning in the southern districts, rejected the suggestion that the anti-incumbency wave was not as strong as it was being projected.


Mr. Stalin who has filed his nominations for Kolathur constituency has told that Kolathur constituency was like his “home” and he had ensured development project for the constituency even though the DMK was not able to secure the status of the main opposition party in the Assembly.
