YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is all set to take up yet another
hunger strike and this time he will be directing this against Telangana
government headed by the TRS boss K Chandrasekhar Rao. Jagan announced
taking up of a new deeksha for three days.
This would be on May 16,
17 and 18 in Kurnool protesting against the construction of
Palamuru-Dindi lift irrigation scheme, that envisages diverting 115 tmc
of Krishna waters from the Srisailam dam to Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy as
well as Nalgonda districts.
Jagan said that the
project is illegal and against the rulings of Krishna Waters Disputes
Tribunal award adding that the state of Andhra Pradesh would not get
allocated water and should be content only with surplus water, that too
at the mercy of the Telangana government!
He
also questioned AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s silence regarding
construction of the Palamuru project by TR led Telangana government.
Sensing that Naidu may not dump his closeness with KCR, Jagan is trying
to shed his pro-KCR image so that he can regain sympathy among the
people of AP!
