An unexpected mishap has occurred at Andhra Pradesh’s Interim
Secretariat. One worker accidentally drowned into a Concrete mixing
machine and he reportedly died on the spot. The demised worker hails
from Uttar Pradesh. This has led to some repercussions.
When
the police tried to shift his body from the spot it irked other workers
who were working there. They started pelting stones on the Police and
set some vehicles on fire some vehicles. It is not clear whether the
workers were agitating for any compensation.
This
is seen as the second such instance of accident at this construction
site. L&T and Shapoor Pallonji are now executing the project and
this incident came as a dent to the activities. It is heard that the
state government is in a hurry to complete the interim secretariat.
Once this work is completed, this can enable shifting of the administration from Hyderabad to the new capital Amaravati by June 27th.
Hence construction companies are reportedly deploying workers in three
shifts round the clock to ensure this is completed on time.
