Reports are arriving from different corners that Telangana’s chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is earning the wrath of farmers for his alleged claim that the third instalment of farm loan waiver was settled even as the government is yet to pay the required amount to the banks.

During his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Telangana CM informed Modi that Telangana government has already paid Rs.12,750 crore in a series of three equal instalments for settlement of total outstanding farm loans of Rs 17,000 crore.

However, it is heard that the banks haven’t still received the third instalment. The farmers, who were denied fresh loans due to government's failure in fully settling their loans, are now seething with anger after CM's claim. They are already suffering from the drought crisis.

Ravikumar Kanneganti, state committee member of Raithu Swarajya Vedika has stated that this is a blatant lie since KCR has mislead the PM regarding the farm loan waiver. Telangana has so far paid only two instalments in the years 2014 and 2015. It has to be seen how KCR's government will make up for this.
