On May 26th amid MP Subramania Swamy stepping up his tirade against Raghuram Rajan the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has told that he does not approve of personal comments against anyone which includes the RBI Governor and Arun Jaitley has said that it is an important institution which makes its own judgment.


Arun Jaitley has told NDTV that one can agree or disagree with their judgment but that is a debate on issues and he don’t think that they should allow a public discourse where instead of debate on issues they concentrate on debate on persons. Jaitley has told that he hopes from the later part of this year and the Monetary Policy Committee will get into action and therefore both the bank and the governance nominees will have to sit together and decide the monetary policy.


Meanwhile Rajan has expressed his views on host of issues including intolerance and has even described India as the one eyed king in the land of blind in reference to the country’s high economic growth. To a question on views of certain corporate leaders that the rupee will crash and the economy will face crisis if Rajan is removed as the RBI Governor and Arun Jaitley has told that there was no need for him to comment on the issue.
