Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's home district Medak is now fully on the boil with a vast farming community now up in arms against state government's proposal for acquiring vast tracts of agriculture land. Reports say this is happening without much consent from the farmers.

This is being done for irrigation and industrial projects. This comes just after two years of the so far smooth run in the office, while the TRS government is all set to face an acid test with most of farmers determined for planning to turn the ongoing agitation into a mass movement.

It will be a rerun of the Nandigram and Singur agitations in West Bengal which has spelt doom for Communist government there. The government has been planning to acquire 22,000 acres of agricultural land for Mallannasagar reservoir close to Kumaravalli town in Medak. 




It is also planning to acquire 15,000 more acres for Kondapochamma reservoir that will be built near the chief minister's assembly constituency of Gajwel. Farmers will also be losing 25,000 acres for the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) spread across 31 villages in Zaheerabad.
