Barack Obama, US President came in support of his one time rival Hillary Clinton to be his succcessor sending strong signals to Democrats that it is time to be united after bitter primary campaign to defeat rival,Republican party candidate Donald Trump.
Obama in a video endorsement said "Tens of millions of Americans made their voices heard. Today I just want to add mine," and added "I'm with her.". Obama and Hillary Clinton's joint campaign will start next Wednesday in Green Bay,Wisconsin. Democrats expect tough fight though Obama won the state convincingly in 2008 and 2012.
Obama's endorsement strengthened Hillary Clinton's campaign. She for more than a year struggled against her rival leftist Bernie Sanders. Clinton finally got the nomination few days ago and Obama came in support of her.
Obama is still the most popular politicians and his approval ratings spread among black, Hispanic, young and liberal voters. Clinton welcomed Obama's vote of confidence tweeting "Honored to have you with me, @POTUS. I'm fired up and ready to go!"
